We know that your living situation is important - it affects your ability to relax, study, and improve your English. At Severnvale, one of our highest priorities is to ensure that your accommodation is exactly what you want it to be.

  All accommodation is carefully selected & regularly inspected by our Accommodation Manager to ensure our standards are being met.

  We know our accommodation providers personally - many have hosted our visitors for many years. There are many kinds of host, but they all share one aim - to make you feel welcome & help you get the most from your stay.

  Our homestay providers all sign and follow the ARELS Homestay Code of Practice.

We choose the accommodation you want - the more you tell us about yourself, the better chance we have to select accommodation which perfectly suits you.

  You'll be living within walking distance of the academy or an easy bus ride away; or we'll provide free taxis to and from the Academy.

  If you don't want to live in a 'host family' situation, we'll help you arrange a different kind of accommodation.

  You probably won't have any problems... but if you do, we'll be here to talk to you, guide you and help you find solutions.

  We have 24-hour emergency phone lines, special arrangements with doctors and dentists... in fact, whatever your situation, we will act swiftly to help you in every way we can.

More about Hotel Accommodation

Homestay - we arrange for you to stay with a family, couple or single person who will provide you with a caring, communicative living situation in a comfortable home.
‘De Luxe’ homestay - similar to homestay, but offering greater comfort and space - a larger room (normally single occupancy of a double room) in an attractive home.
Executive homestay - similar to ‘de luxe’ homestay, plus ‘en suite’ or private bathroom facilities. If you are placed in an executive homestay outside reasonable walking distance, you will also be provided with free daily taxis to & from the academy.
Guest house accommodation - normally on a “Bed & Breakfast” basis
Hotels - we have special arrangements with good hotels near the academy.
Welfare... we are here to help you; with 24-hour emergency phone lines, special arrangements with doctors and dentists etc; whatever your situation, we will act swiftly to assist you in every way we can.

Note:- We can also assist you in trying to find a flat or ‘shared house’ accommodation if you are staying for 3 months or longer.

Homestay accommodation for younger students

Choosing the best hosts
All students at our YOUTH CENTRE stay in homestay (‘host family’) accommodation. Severnvale is the only accredited private language school in Shrewsbury… we don’t have to compete with others for accommodation, so our standards are high; we also inspect all accommodation regularly to ensure our standards are being maintained. We know all accommodation providers personally - many have been receiving our visitors for years.

Every placement is considered individually, so please tell us about any special requests and needs, and we will do our very best to make a ‘perfect’ homestay placement. All our hosts provide full board (all meals, with packed lunch on weekdays) and a full laundry service.

Accommodation for students on Starline & Express courses includes:-

  All meals including weekday lunches

  All laundry etc

  Free use of Severnvale’s buses to and from the academy on a daily basis throughout the course

NOTE: Students normally share their homestay accommodation room with one or more other students of the same sex, similar age, but different nationality/mother tongue. If a student especially wants to have a single room placement, this should be mentioned when registering.
